Back... also a Shopping Haul!

So after quite a long hiatus, in which I graduated, took a gap semester working, and enrolled for a second bachelor's degree, I am back! Great! During this hiatus, I also happened to have shopped [a lot] so I thought I'd update with a few of the things I've purchased.

1. GHD Styler Set
I bought the "Pink Limited Edition Styler Set" from folica.com and received it within 5 business days (if I remember correctly, very fast shipping!) It was a somewhat impulse buy, since I never thought I really had problematic hair. I always thought I had pin straight "AZN" style hair. Well, after using this straightener, I no longer believe so... because this thing makes my hair so friggin' straight that I now believe my natural hair actually does look a bit wavy.

The styler set itself comes with a "pink raffia bag" (quote from folica.com, whatever "raffia" means), which has a heat resistant lining on the inside, a compact mirror which comes in a suede-ish pouch and has a leather-like finish with the same pink pattern as the flat iron, and the flat iron itself which is a 1 in. flat iron. The whole thing came up to a little under 200$, shipping and duties included.

So, without further ado, here are a few pictures:

The straightener in its box.

The images on folica.com don't show the size of the "raffia bag" but it is quite large... as wide and tall as the box... not very travel friendly...

The "raffia bag" can be unrolled. The straightener is inside a small (travel friendly) pouch that is attached to the raffia bag using velcro. The small pouch is lined with heat resistant material.

The unrolled raffia bag can be used as a mat on which to put down the flat iron while you're straightening your hair, as it is lined with heat resistant material! :)

Results! Sooo straight! But I just realised a before/after comparison would be more useful.
(photos to be updated, then!)
Final thoughts? While the straightener is definitely a good one, I haven't used it in a while. The difference it made in my hair doesn't exactly justify the cost... I think I should have bought a good curling iron instead, since I'm so obsessed with getting romantic, loose curls. I don't know why I spend my money the way I do, it defies logic...

2. Cute booties!!
Aldo was having an end of season online sale and I. Just. Couldn't. Resist. And additional 30% off? Could you have resisted? I bought a few things, including a cute pair of booties, for only 27$! (It was when those cute booties were all the rage last fall, okay?) I got free shipping (it was super fast, like 3 days) and when I got them, they were one size too small, so I went and exchanged it at a physical store (with no problem at all).

So here they are:

Detail of the bow.

That's it for now! Going to post some more tomorrow, hopefully with a little more of the stuff I've bought over the last few months :P
